The Spa Hotel Tunbridge Wells Kent Wedding Photographers - Clare and Chris: Tunbridge Wells Kent Wedding Photography

Good Morning Folks,

As promised I am blogging about Clare and Chris' wedding Photography at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells Kent recently.

The day started in one of the gorgeous suites at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells and it was a haven of calm with a mixture of anticipation and excitement.  We had lots of fun capturing this time and then we headed downstairs to capture of images of the boys prior to their interview.  We then headed back upstairs (yup it had to be the stairs for the sake of a bit of exercise) to wait for Deniz to arrive to signal that Clare and her Father should make that final walk together.

The day was just lovely; Logan, Clare and Chris' gorgeous, impeccably behaved son executed his best man duties beautifully.  They must have been so proud and rightly so.

The day was cold, crisp and a bit wet underfoot so the photography took place in the hotel and we popped outside in the evening to capture a shot that we had been planning since I first meeting last year!  The first dance was lovely and after a quick run through behind the scenes it was then to create a sensation on the dance floor; well done gang you were great.

So for today's images I am posting an image taken outside under the lamplight and we all enjoyed the fresh air.  Secondly I just love the first kiss, such a romantic moment mixed with relief and I never tire of seeing it.  Last but not least the man himself, Logan looking proudly up and two very proud parents looking down; love it!

I am really looking forward to photographing more weddings at The Spa Hotel next year and if Deniz is in charge of the day it will all go swimmingly!

Enjoy your weekend folks; so how many of you are Christmas shopping?  I have definitely made a start on mine.

Salomons, Tunbridge Wells, Kent - Emma and Patrick: Tunbridge Wells Wedding Photographers

Good Afternoon Folks,

I recently had another great pre-wedding shoot at Salomons, Tunbridge Wells, Kent with Emma and Patrick and I seem to be spending quite a lot of time there lately!

It was good to mooch around the grounds and continue to explore the venue and all it has to offer. It was also good to have the opportunity to chat about Emma and Patrick's day to hear all the plans they have.  Their wedding reception is going to be held in the science theatre so I am really looking forward to that as I have not photographed a reception in there yet.  To date I have photographed weddings in the gold room and on the terrace, a drinks reception in the conservatory, a wedding reception in the dining room so I am gradually covering all parts of this gorgeous venue.

Today I am posting four images, the first is having a bit of piggy back fun, then we move on to a more serene shot by one of the lakes; there is so many opportunities within the house so we captured a quick image in the reception area.  Last but not least the new bridge and they have done a lovely job, it looks fabulous.

Have a brilliant weekend everyone and have lots of fun :)

Little Silver Wedding Photography, Tenterden, Kent - Becki and Dan: Kent Wedding Photographers

Good Morning Folks,

Back in July I had a fun pre-wedding shoot with Becki and Dan and the beautiful Little Silver in Tenterden, Kent.  As with most of the weather this year the day was extremely changeable and we were ducking and diving to avoid the rain...I know you can hardly believe it can you ;)

When I have not photographed at a venue before, these shoots become even more important as it gives me the chance to explore and make plans stress free.  If the venue is familiar to me it is always nice to stroll through the grounds to establish why it was chosen by my couple.

I am only posting one image today as I have since photographed their wedding, which you will be pleased to know was balmy and dry; so stay tuned and I will post some images in future posts.

This weekend I was busy photographing weddings, but I did enjoy a day off on Sunday so we popped out for a stroll on the beach at Winchelsea; always good to blow away the cobwebs.

Looking forward to catching up later in the week and whatever you are doing have fun :)

David Salomons - Karen and Chris: Tunbridge Wells Wedding Photographers

Good Morning Bloggers,

I recently had a great pre-wedding shoot with Karen and Chris who will be getting married at David Salomons House in Tunbridge Wells.  I was there not so long ago for another lovely pre-wedding shoot so it was nice to be back there again ahead of my first wedding.  It is so strange to be exploring these venues that were an intrinsic part of my childhood, when I was young Salomons was not open to just wander around.

Karen and Chris have some really fun things planned for the day and I am particularly looking forward to one of their plans that for now must remain a secret!  The grounds at Salomons are extensive and I was pleased to see work starting on the wonderful bridge and I am hoping that it will be completed ahead of the my first wedding and obviously Karen and Chris' wedding.

Today I am posting three images; the first is a stolen kiss amongst the weeping willows, then it's onto a bit of piggyback fun.  The third images showcases the wonderful steps leading from the lawns to the house.  All being well weatherwise this is where there marriage will take place, so let's hope that things remain dry from now on.

It has been a busy few weeks for me and I have plans to catch up with all things admin this week; it really doesn't take long for the paperwork to pile up.

Isn't it great that the Paralympics have started and I am sure that Olympic fever is set to start again.  Good Luck to all those taking part and I am sure Team GB is set to do us proud.

Have a great week folks :)

David Salomons, Tunbridge Wells, Kent - Hannah and Garry: Tunbridge Wells Wedding Photographers

Happy Friday Folks :)

Yes I am back only a day after my last post; sorry!!

Recently I had a great pre-wedding shoot with Hannah, Garry and their two gorgeous boys at David Salomons in Tunbridge Wells.  I was born and grew up in Tunbridge Wells so many of the venues in that area have lots of nostalgia attached to them.  A lot of my family still live there so it's like I never went away, not that I am that far away in sunny East Grinstead!!

It goes to show what a small world it is as one of Hannah's relations used to teach me at secondary school.  I will have to make sure I am on my best behaviour so I do not get detention!!

Anyway I digress and back to the shoot; we had a lovely stroll around the grounds and it was an exceptionally hot evening without a cloud in the sky.  The house has so much to offer photographically both inside and out I just cannot wait to photograph their big day and I have also had a sneaky peek at Hannah's dress; oh wow how excited am I :)

I am posting three images today; the first is a quiet image looking over the cooling waters of the lake, the second just a lovely shot of Hannah and Garry and the third is some fun with the boys.

Have the most fabulous weekend everyone and whatever you are up to have fun.

All Saint's Church, Brenchley, Kent - Alice and David: Kent Wedding Photographers

Good Afternoon Folks,

Hope this week is treating you well so far?  I recently met up with Alice and David for their pre-wedding shoot at All Saint's Church, Brenchley, Kent.

We had a great time exploring the wonderful grounds and all the formal photography along with their bride and groom portraiture is going to take place here.  They are having their reception at the local cricket club with a marquee on the lawn and I love the ideas they have for their wedding, which is going to be centred on a festival theme.  It is only a short hop, skip and a jump from the church to the reception but there are some magnificent views along the way; happy days :)

I am posting three images today, the first is introducing the wonderful Baxter who was most preterbed at being made to walk on the opposite side to normal!  Then on to a very romantic shot, but you should see the shots either side of this, all I can say is there were peals of laughter all round and lastly a sneaky peek at those magnificent views.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone and keep any eye out for a few images from Andy and Adele's wedding next week.

Spa Hotel, Tunbridge Wellls, Kent - Donna and Craig: Kent Wedding Photographers

Good Morning Folks,

I recently photographed the wedding in Kent of Donna and Craig at the magnificent Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. They were married in The Spa Hotel's Orangery, which was so light and airy. On our pre-wedding shoot we planned for a particular shot in the Orangery of Donna; this had to be done in super quick time as the room needed to be changed for the reception. I love it when a plan comes together and thanks to the fabulous Deniz the hotel manager we were able to get the shot and I just love it. I am not posting it on here today as I want it to have an impact when Donna and Craig have their viewing.

Today's imagery is one of Donna just before the ceremony and the light shows off her Jenny Packham dress beautifully, the other is such a fun shot as they danced down the aisle, and I think you can see that they were a fun couple; so it goes without saying we had some great laughs. The third shot is one from their portraiture session on the bridge; it was a little 'nippy' and I take my hat off to Donna as she soldiered on for the sake of art!

Apologies for the time between blog posts, things have been busy here and I needed to catch up. Rest assured I have lots in the pipeline to blog about later and I hope you keep checking back to see what I have been up to.

I know of at least two people who read my ramblings! They are both brides for this year who say they always pop in and have a look when it appears on my facebook page; thank you ladies it has inspired me to keep on gabbling!!

Have a great week everyone.

Tenterden Steam Railway - Dawn and Anthony: Kent Wedding Photography

Good Afternoon,

I recently photographed a few images of Dawn and Anthony; this mini-session was sneaked in ahead of Anthony's return to work in India. We had great fun at the Tenterden Steam Railway and I was particularly taken with Anthony's hat. I told him not to put it down anywhere as it might go walkies straight into my studio!! Their wedding is going to be at the gorgeous Great Barn in Rolvenden and this venue enjoys typical views of the gorgeous countryside that we have in Kent. The Tenterden Steam Railway has many nooks and crannies in which to photograph; I love it because you just cannot beat a good steam railway, and on a personal note, my Father taught the drivers here when it first opened as a steam railway attraction. The train scenes in the Darling Buds of May were also filmed here; this is one of my favourite programmes so lots to love.

This week's blog post is a little late because things are hotting up here at Woodland Hill Photography as wedding season is about to go into full swing. It was a fun packed weekend both in the studio and on location on Saturday and Sunday. I have been working away to get all my edits completed ahead of this week's wedding.

Enjoy your week and seeing all the trees bursting into bud is brilliant; come on Spring show yourself :)

Donna and Craig - Spa Hotel, Tunbridge Wells, Kent: Kent Wedding Photography

Good Afternoon Folks,

Recently I had a fun packed pre-wedding shoot with Donna and Craig at the lovely Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells. The weather was lovely during our time there albeit a little windy. We had a lovely stroll around the grounds and planned some exciting shots in the orangery, it was then off to explore the inside; and it did not disappoint!

We had a good old laugh and chat as we wandered around this goregous venue and I can really see that the big day is going to be enormous fun too.

I will be exhibiting at the Spa Hotel and Lansdowne Place Hotel Wedding Fayres this coming Sunday 4th March. Both venues are just beautiful and I am equally excited to have the honour of exhibiting at both. Ula will ensure your day runs smoothly at The Spa and Jo is your excellent events manager at Lansdowne Place.

The Lansdowne is not adverse to the odd celebrity or two and Jo was photographed with one of them last Saturday...lucky Jo :)

Have a great week all and I am looking forward to posting again soon; I think I might make the next one a personal post to add a little variety.

Another lovely Album!: West Sussex Wedding Photographers

Good Morning,

Wow, what amazing weather we are having, and I am particularly excited as I am having two whole days off this weekend!

I thought I would post another album image today; this album is a very simple, elegant design and I really like the metal engraving with the Bride and Groom's names.

The whole experience surrounding these albums is just lovely, they come in beautiful boxes and they are contained in fabric bags, just what you would expect when buying something exclusive. It is the album equivalent of Jimmy Choo's!!

Have a great day and I think we should all meander in the sun eating ice cream!

Julie and Jon The Beacon, Tunbridge Wells, Kent: Kent Wedding Photographers

I recently photographed the wedding of Julie and Jon at the very picturesque Beacon Hotel near Tunbridge Wells, Kent. We were extremely lucky with the weather, it stayed dry until 10 minutes after they sat down to eat and the rain was relentless for the entire evening; so no more going outside for us that day! Julie and Jon had a wonderful time celebrating with their family and friends and I had so much fun with you all. Jon has the most infectious smile I have ever seen, he gets that from his equally lovely Dad and I giggled all the way through the edit. I think the pictures of Julie and her Dad speak for themselves what a truly lovely and funny man, although I was told off my Julie's Mum for encouraging him ... it was worth it!

Have a great weekend everyone,

Lovely Album Covers: West Sussex Wedding Photography

Good Afternoon,

Well it is the end of another week and to everyone getting married tomorrow, including my lovely Bride and Groom I hope you all have the most wonderful day.

I thought I would share a lovely album cover with you; I only use one very exclusive album company now and they have so many wonderful coverings that would suit most wedding themes. This cover was the exact colour and pattern of the coat of a recent Groom of mine and it looked fabulous on their album. It really completed the whole theme of their wedding, so I though I would share with a little bit of imagery.

Enjoy the weekend and let's hope we have a few dry spells.

Julie and Jon The Beacon, Tunbridge Wells, Kent: Kent Wedding Photography

Good Morning,

I recently photographed Julie and Jon's pre-wedding shoot at their gorgeous wedding venue The Beacon in Tunbridge Wells Kent. We had great fun planning the photography for their big day, the theme of their wedding is very close to their hearts and so fitting to the county of Kent. Having grown up in Tunbridge Wells and frolicked amongst the 'gardens' and orchards myself as a child, I cannot wait to see the finished theme.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend; I saw lots of lovely clients on Saturday and it was a pleasure to talk about some really exciting plans for a wedding that I now have for 2013. I never tire of hearing the lovely things that couples are planning for their weddings, and there is always something new to look forward to that I have not photographed before too. We are so lucky to have so many beautiful locations for wedding photographers in Surrey, Sussex and Kent.

Well it is back to editing weddings and studio sessions for me, so I hope you all have a great day.

Lisa and Pete - Hotel du Vin and High Rocks Inn Tunbridge Wells Kent: Kent Wedding Photography

I recently photographed the wedding of Lisa and Pete; we had a fabulous day, the weather was kind albeit a little humid and I had two lovely locations to work in.

Lisa prepared for her wedding at the Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells and this beautiful building is steeped in history. It was really nice to be able to work there as my Great, Great Grandparents used to run the hotel when it was the Calverley Hotel about 120 years ago!

Before returning back to the hotel I travelled to the High Rocks Inn to meet Pete and the Gang from the train. Unfortunately they were not on the steam train, but this certainly did not dampen the excitement. Funnily enough the High Rocks was where I was fortunate enough to have my wedding nearly 12 years ago, and the Toastmaster from our wedding is still working there; it was lovely to have a chat and catch up with him during our break.

It was a beautiful day for Lisa and Pete with lots of lovely memories for me too!

Hope you are enjoying your fabulous Honeymoon you two and looking forward to seeing you both on your return.

Lisa and Pete The High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Good Afternoon,

I know, I know I am like a bus you do not hear from me then two posts come along at once! Here are a few images from Lisa and Pete's pre-wedding shoot at the High Rocks in Tunbridge Wells. This is a truly beautiful venue and I had my wedding reception here 11 1/2 years ago so this shoot brought back all sorts of lovely memories.

The High Rocks themselves are wonderful to walk around and the varying light conditions made for some very interesting lighting. The images you see here were taken using natural light only.

We have some great plans in store for the big day itself so lots to look forward to.

Have a great weekend and if this lovely weather stays with us; enjoy!

August - Lizzie and Tom Dale Hill Hotel and Golf Club

Had a lovely fun filled day at Lizzie and Tom's wedding last week. They are currently having the most wonderful Honeymoon in Las Vegas and Hawaii. We started the day at the Dale Hill Hotel and Golf Club, full of excitement with the preparations; it was then off to St Mark's Church in Tunbridge Wells and as you can see it is a magnificent building. Lizzie and Tom arranged for sandwiches and champagne to be served after the service and during the group shots and I think this was very well received by everyone! It was then back to Dale Hill for the reception with fun and frolics on the golf buggies.. Wow what views the golf club has. Thank you once again to James and the team at Dale Hill for being brilliant, as you know I always love photographing there and I hope to see you all again soon. Lizzie and Tom have a relaxing time and looking forward to seeing you when you get back.
